Local Netball Coach wins Sports Coach UK Performance-development Award

Jan Crabtree wins Coaching Award

Congratulations to Hampshire-based netball coach Jan Crabtree who is the winner of the 2010 Performance-development Coach of the Year Award.

Jan is National Excel coach, taking charge of England players at under-17 and under-19 level. She has introduced a player-centred approach that has changed the mind-set of the athletes. This has included ensuring each player understands their role in the team and that they feel able to air their opinions constructively. She also introduced a tour Down Under which allowed her athletes to compete against the best teams in the world.
 
Jan was successful at the UK Coaching Awards last night in an evening ceremony at the Brewery, London.
