Preparations for the 2010-11 Season

With the new season starting in just a few weeks and most coaches now in place, it is an ideal time to check if all junior team coaches’ have a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) disclosures and if it is still valid. England Basketball strongly recommends that all licensed coaches of players aged under 18 need to have a current valid CRB disclosure as a CRB is considered valid for 3 years from date of issue. There is an expectation that all junior team coaches will have completed a CRB and we are seeking to encourage those without to rectify the situation now. The CRB service assists all clubs with junior members in implementing their Child Protection Policy and safe recruitment practices. Coaches wishing to obtain a CRB disclosure through England Basketball should go to the Child Protection pages of our website for further information. The CRB disclosure application form changed at the start of August to a new purple application form, so requests for new forms should be directed to the CRB agency ‘The Media Group’ through their online order service or by ringing 0115 9694606.
