Undergraduate Coaching Degree Endorsement Consultation Launched
The UK Centre for Coaching Excellence has launched a consultation process regarding the endorsement of undergraduate degrees in sports coaching.
The consultation process is a follow up to the Higher Education Forum that was hosted by the Centre at Leeds Metropolitan University in April and will be a key process in meeting the aims of the UK Coaching Framework.
Comments on the proposed endorsement criteria – which, along with guidance on providing feedback, can be accessed via related information – are invited by the 31 October 2009.
Commenting on the launch of the consultation process Graeme Maw, Interim Manager of the UK Centre for Coaching Excellence, said: “The endorsement of undergraduate degrees in sports coaching is an area of considerable benefit to the coaching industry, including the Education Institutions, Governing Bodies of sport and employers, and hence is one of the specific actions of the UK Coaching Framework.
“We are pleased to be leading on the delivery of the endorsement criteria, and hope many of the individuals and organisations involved in sports coaching within the Higher Education sector will provide their opinion and comments on our proposals.”
